Bullet Journal

My July Bullet Journal 2019

Is it just me, or does anyone else struggle when trying to decide a theme for their bullet journal each month? Sometimes I do the same as AmandaRachLee, as I love her channel and I love recreating her spreads. But sometimes I just don’t have the ability to replicate her spreads and that’s fine because it gives me the chance to try and come up with my own. Like this month’s theme, I decided to try a beach theme which I was really surprised how it turned out and how much I love it.

At first, I was conflicted whether to use colour in this month’s spread or keep it completely black and white – something I haven’t actually done during my time journalling. Maybe another month I will go minimalist in the colour department and keep to black, white and shades of grey. But after doing a quick poll over on my Bujo Insta,Β I choose to use colour and I actually think it looks quite good!

Now, I love going to the beach with friends. I love sitting on the pebbles, feeling the cold sea air and running through the tide as it comes in and out or taking a few moments out with a book – especially if it’s sunny. I haven’t been to the beach in a while but hopefully soon. Here is my calendar for the month and as you can see I am very excited because I have YALC to look forward to at the end of the month before returning home. I cannot wait to see some of my friends that I haven’t seen since last year and getting to visit so many amazing panels.

Perhaps with the recent announcement that Disney has casted its lead for the Little Mermaid ( I love that they picked Halle – she’s definitely the perfect choice), I decided to add my own Sebastian on my reading tracker spread. Before I ended up remember that Sebastian was a lobster and not a crab. But anyway, my reading tracker spread is something which I always make sure to include each month because I find it a fantastic way to track what I’m reading and how long for.

Now onto my weekly setups, I choose to keep it simple but still mix it up a little in variety. Using simple washi tape, my yellow and red Crayola super tip pens and a couple of black fine liners. I’ve found that by keeping my weekly spreads simply like this often I’ve completely filled each day up with tasks which have kept me going and made me feel quite productive.

What theme did you choose for this month? Do you journal and do you find it helps keep you productive?

    1. Thank you! I guess they are right when they say practice makes perfect – though I still have a lot of practice to do! My bullet journal is giving me a huge sense of purpose at the moment so being able to work on it is really helping my mental health.

    1. Haha I assure you that I have zero talent too – often I trace or just give it a go, after all the saying is practice makes perfect. However, that being said August is a drawing boxes month for me as I just don’t seem to have any inspiration at all!

    1. Thank you – I can promise it’s not always been like this but over the past year I’ve been really trying to be more creative with spreads.

    1. Thank you! Honestly, my spreads weren’t always like this and often aren’t! It’s very much a project in progress and just practising.

    1. Thank you! You can definitely make yours pretty! Mine a year ago was not pretty at all, just got to keep practising!

  1. I love your Summer theme, it’s incredible! Love your designs. I’ve always been tempted to bullet journal but I’m not that creative lol. I see other people’s and don’t think I can do it. I’m going to LFCC this weekend and hoping to pop into YAL C as well – I was gutted I missed it last year (LFCC took all my time).

    1. Honestly, you don’t have to be creative to bullet journal – check out my bullet journal journey post and you will see how my journals used to be. It’s only been this year that I’ve tried to be more creative. I hope that you had a great time at LFCC and YALC!

  2. I love reading about and seeing everyone’s bullet journals this month – yours is so pretty! It’s something I’d like to eventually get into but keep putting off lol

    1. You definitely should and don’t hold off till next year! The best thing about bullet journaling is that you can start it whenever you want and don’t have to wait till the start of a new year!
