Books and Cocktails

Imagine, five book blogging book obsessed individuals enter a bookshop followed by a trip to Chiquitos, a catch up after a month apart which revealed so much. I bet you can guess what occurred during this book club meeting, a meeting where we don’t just discuss one specific book but all books! Well in case you can’t guess what happened, it involved purchasing a lot of books, recommending books, talking about the bookish events and a lot of cocktails along with a bit of a catch-up and a lot of good food too.

Though, since the NYA event back in March, I haven’t actually been to a bookstore or bought any books since which means unleashing me in a bookshop at the start of May was a lot of books being purchased. I swear my second home is a Waterstones, especially when I complete a couple of stamp cards to add onto my points card and especially when I found I have a lot of points but I’m holding back. I finish university after next year and I don’t know what’s going to happen, so I’m keeping hold of those points till I need to treat myself, when I may not be able to as easily as I am now.

Anyway, although I thoroughly enjoyed discovering new cocktails, I’m not a big drinker so huge thank you to Charlotte, Cora, Steph and Aimee who advised me on which ones’ I would like. I think it’s time to show you the books which I purchased on this great evening out.

I can’t wait to dive into reading these books, I’ve only heard amazing things about them all. But I also can’t wait to find a proper place for them on my bookcase once I completed a spring clean and unhauled some books and found them new homes.

Let me know if you’ve read any of these and what you thought!

    1. To be fair normally I am so much more restrained but I hadn’t bought anything new in months and currently going through a huge book cull at the moment so needed to refill my shelves! x

  1. Ohhh nothing is better than a full case of books!
I have so many non fictional books I love reading, but I want to be getting more into fiction as well. Because it is one of the best ways to relax eh?
Can’t say I’ve read any of these, but one of my fave’s all time is: The white oleander.
    It’s a beautiful book!
Thank you for sharing your passion so enthusiastically

    1. Thank you so much for reading! I’m a huge fiction nerd but have slowly been getting into non-fiction and have a few which are on my shelves ready to be read!

    1. The cocktails were great, we ordered a great many that night. I can’t wait to get into it because I heard so many good things!

  2. Apart from Reasons To Say Alive I don’t think I have heard of any of these books before! I couldn’t think of anything better then going book shopping and then going for cocktails afterwards x

    1. It was a lovely evening and one which will definitely be repeated. I feel like I’m one of the few people who haven’t read Matt Haig so thought it was about time to pick it up! Thank you for reading x

  3. Yay! New books to add to my list! Thanks for sharing!

I just went out with some friends I hadn’t been out with in years last month, and it was just what was needed! The drinks look good! I don’t drink so I never know what drinks are out there. Lol.
