A Northern Book Bloggers Book Haul!

I haven’t done one of these haul things in a while (though I have still been buying quite a few books!) so I decided to do this haul since the last book club meeting with the #NorthernBookBloggers, I bought a lot of books! Let me know if you’ve read any of these and what you thought since I’d like to know what to boost up on my TBR pile!

  • The Hazel Wood By Melissa Albert

I don’t have a definitive idea what this book is about but I have heard that it’s sort of a dark fairytale retelling which the idea itself I find extremely interesting.  I adore dark and twisted retellings of fairytales but maybe that’s because I would read Grimm’s fairytales when I was a child.

  • Fly By Night By Frances Hardinge

Admittedly I picked this up on a whim as I haven’t read any of Frances Hardinge’s books before, not even the Lie Tree! But I like the idea of books being forbidden and it was only £2.50 as it was part of the World Book Day collection of books on sale.

  • Paddington Turns Detective and Other Funny Stories By Michael Bond

Another one from the World Book Day collection which was brought out this year! When I was a kid, I never read Paddington, we were more of a Winnie the Pooh household but when the first film came out I finally read it and really loved it! Which is why I saw they had this mini collection of stories I had to get them! Afterall, Paddington is such a fun character.

  • Tender By Eve Ainsworth

This was actually a recommendation from fellow #NorthernBookBlogger Liam and this is another I am looking forward to reading despite not knowing what it’s about. I know its about teen careers and is a very hard-hitting book to read.

  • Bookworm: A Memoir of Childhood Reading By Lucy Mangan

A book which I have been waiting to come out for months now! I love reading about others experiences with reading and seeing what were the books which peaked their interest the most. But more importantly which books spoke to them and helped mould them become the people they are today.

  • More Than We Can Tell By Brigid Kemmerer

I waited for this book for as long as I known that it was coming out! I finished Letters to the Lost and adored it, but there were characters I wanted to know more about and Brigid is giving us that with this book which focuses on Rev. Rev was a character we didn’t get to really know in Letters to the Lost but a character which really intrigued me so I can’t wait to pick this up once all my uni reading is done and under control!

  • Nevermoor: The Trails of Morrigan Crow By Jessica Townsend

The only one on this list which I have read, as this is an additional copy which Liam got for me at Jessica Townsend’s signing which I wasn’t able to get to. I loved the world of Nevermoor and I cannot wait for the sequel so I can dive into the world again. Although with this edition, it has an exclusive first chapter for the next book which I’m saving for now.

I hope you enjoyed this little haul post, though I wonder if you’d be interested in an unhaul post. If you are then please let me know cause I have a few dozen books which I am unhauling!

    1. I wish I could just buy book and read then buy the neck like I use to but I have become something of an addict now! I can’t help myself!

    1. I’d say read Letters First because even though it’s technically not a series it does give a nice intro to meeting Rev who I adore! x

  1. I don’t think you can go far wrong with Paddington, he’s a must read at any age! And I like the sound of Fly By Night as well. You mentioning unhauling is very topical for me, I really need to recycle some of my books, I literally have no more room on the shelves, they’re starting their own piles on the floor now! x

  2. This sounds like such a fab collection to have. I love Paddinton but I haven’t heard of this one…actually I’m not familiar with any of these books. I love discovering new reads so thank you for sharing! I think The Hazel Wood has peaked my interest most 😍
